Choosing questions
Should I choose blinds, shades or shutters?
Blinds give the most flexible light control, shades add softness, insulation and true blackout, and shutters are the most durable, built-in look. Many homes mix them by room. Our Treatment Matcher ranks the options for your room and priorities, and we explain the trade-offs honestly at your windows.
Are cordless blinds safer for children and pets?
Yes. Removing accessible cords removes the strangulation hazard that cords can create, which is why safety groups recommend cordless or inaccessible-cord designs for homes with young children. Almost everything we sell can be made cordless or motorized.
What is best for blocking light in a bedroom?
A blackout shade with a tight fit, often under lined drapery, blocks the most light. Outside mounting or side channels reduce the light that leaks around the edges, and cordless or motorized operation keeps bedrooms safer and tidier.
